Football lads and lasses (FLAF) Scotland gives full support and solidarity to Glen Kamara. We also welcome the stance taken by his manager Steven Gerrard, who has condemned the vile racist abuse directed at the player.
The explanation given by Ondřej Kúdela and what he claims to have said are bizarre. Why would he feel it necessary to cover his mouth other than to hide his intent and statement from public view. Following the match Slavia Prague supporters demonstrated with a disgusting racist banner that said ‘Kamara – just another n*gger’!
The club have since distanced themselves from the actions of those fans but refused to acknowledge or apologise for Kudela’s actions. Only by first acknowledging the problem can Slavia Prague move on and eradicate the racist poison that exists in the dressing room and spills out onto the terraces.
UEFA should take decisive action against Slavia Prague. In the meantime we support players who take action themselves and leave the pitch forcing the postponement or cancellation of the fixture.
